Buying Equipment

All players are required to have:

• Stick (see chart below) • Mouthguard • Shinguards

WRA has worked out a package deal at SPORTS UNLIMITED for instructional and junior level players.  Equipment for older players is available for purchase separately.

Be sure to tell them that you are with the WRA Field Hockey Program and you need the instructional or junior level package.

How to choose the right stick for my child?
The right size stick is a very important detail in buying equipment. Junior hockey sticks come in 30", 31", 32", 33", 34"inches. The rule of thumb is that the stick should come up to your waist. Have your child stand up straight and using a tape measure measure from the floor up to the middle of their waist.
NOTE:It is better to have the stick a little too long rather than too short.
